Celebrates ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign

The Adjudicatory Board for Major Ports (ABMP) celebrated the nationwide environmental initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ on 01 July 2026, reaffirming its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The programme was graced by the Hon'ble Presiding Officer, Justice Shri A. J. Desai, Hon'ble Member, Shri C. Viswanath, and Hon'ble Member, Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan.

As a symbolic gesture marking the occasion, Joint Registrar Smt. Anuradha H. Sharma, Joint Registrar Smt. Jyoti Venkatachalam and Shri Ambati Ramesh, Assistant Registrar presented saplings to the Hon'ble Presiding Officer and the Hon'ble Members, signifying the Board's collective commitment to environmental stewardship and the message of nurturing nature for future generations.

The celebration also witnessed the distribution of saplings to all officers and employees of the Board under ABMP's unique institutional initiative, ‘One Employee-One Plant-One Year Responsibility.’ Through this initiative, every employee voluntarily adopts a sapling and undertakes the responsibility of nurturing and protecting it for a minimum period of one year, recognising that the true success of a plantation drive lies not merely in planting trees but in ensuring their healthy growth and survival.

To encourage sustained environmental responsibility, the Board has also instituted an Annual Recognition Scheme, under which the adopted plants will be periodically evaluated based on their health, care and growth. Employees maintaining the best grown plants will be recognised and awarded.

The initiative draws inspiration from the timeless wisdom of the Atharva Veda-

‘माताभूमिः पुत्रोऽहंपृथिव्याः।’

‘The Earth is my Mother, and I am Her child.’

The campaign also reflects the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, who launched ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ as a nationwide movement encouraging every citizen to plant a tree in honour of one's mother and Mother Earth.

Speaking on the occasion, it was emphasised that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and that every sapling nurtured today represents cleaner air, greener surroundings and a healthier future. The programme highlighted that planting a tree is not merely an environmental activity but a lasting commitment towards future generations.

Through this meaningful initiative, the Adjudicatory Board for Major Ports has reaffirmed its resolve to integrate environmental responsibility into its institutional culture, inspiring every officer and employee to contribute towards a greener, healthier and more sustainable India.
